AusPost: Handling Digital Products in International Orders

Excluding digital products from customs declarations (MyPost Business & eParcel)

Updated this week

When shipping international orders that include both physical and digital products, youโ€™ll need to exclude the digital items.

Digital products should not be included in customs declarations, as they donโ€™t require shipping and may otherwise attract unnecessary duties.

How to exclude a digital product

  1. Open the order using the blue dropdown arrow in the last column

  2. Locate the digital product

  3. Click the checkbox next to the world icon to deselect it

Once deselected, the item will not be included when generating the international shipping label.

Understanding the world icon

The world icon indicates whether a product is ready for international shipping:

  • ๐ŸŸข Green โ†’ Item is compliant

    • HS Tariff Code provided

    • Country of Origin provided

  • ๐Ÿ”ด Red โ†’ Item is not compliant

    • Missing HS Tariff Code and/or Country of Origin

Fixing a red world icon

If an item shows a red icon:

  1. Click the world icon (it will turn blue on hover)

  2. Enter the required details:

    • HS Tariff Code

    • Country of Origin

  3. Click Save

Before creating your label

Make sure that:

  • Only physical products are selected for shipment

  • All selected items display a green world icon

This ensures that only valid items are submitted to your carrier and included in customs declarations.
