Why your WooCommerce store needs to be reauthenticated

Written by Meegan

ReadyToShip connects to your WooCommerce store through WooCommerce’s REST API. This is the secure connection WooCommerce provides for services such as ReadyToShip.

At times, your store may refuse that connection. Although the error appears in ReadyToShip, the response is being returned by your WooCommerce store or its hosting environment.

The status code shown in the error tells us the general type of problem, but it does not tell us exactly what caused it.

Common causes include changes to WooCommerce, WordPress, security plugins, API permissions or your hosting provider’s firewall settings.

Reauthenticating your store creates a fresh connection and will often get the store communicating again.

This does not change your store, orders or ReadyToShip settings. It simply asks WooCommerce to approve the connection again.

If the store regularly requires reauthentication, please provide the status code and error message shown in ReadyToShip to your website developer or hosting provider.

They can check the store’s logs, security settings and firewall rules to determine why the connection is being refused.
