You can create an Automation Rule to automatically assign a carrier and service to orders going to a particular postcode, state, suburb or country.
For this example, we'll assign an Express Post service to Australian orders with delivery postcodes from 3000 to 3999.
Create the rule
Go to Settings > Automation and click New Rule.
Enter a Title for the rule.
For example: VIC 3000–3999 – Assign Express Post
For Type, select:
Automatic to apply the rule automatically when orders are imported.
Manual to apply the rule only when you choose to run it.
If you're creating an Automatic rule, you can leave Active turned off until you've tested it.
Set the location
Click Add Condition Group.
For this example, set the conditions to:
Shipping Country Equals AU
and
Shipping Postcode Between 3000 and 3999
Including Shipping Country prevents an international postcode with a similar value from matching the rule.
You can also create location rules using Shipping State, Shipping Suburb/City or Shipping Country instead of a postcode range.
Assign the carrier and service
Click Add Action and select Assign Carrier and Service.
Click the Carrier and service dropdown and select the service you want to use.
The dropdown contains the carrier and service combinations available through your connected carrier accounts.
For this example, select your required Express Post service.
Note: Carrier and service are selected together. You don't need to select them separately.
If additional order options are available for the selected service, you can also set them here.
Save and test the rule
Click Save.
Use Dry run to check which orders match before making an Automatic rule Active.
Once you're happy with the results, set the rule to Active.
ReadyToShip will now automatically assign your selected Express Post service when an Australian order has a delivery postcode from 3000 to 3999.
⚠️ Important: If you have several location rules that could match the same order, their position in the Automation list is important. See Set the priority of Automation Rules.
If you no longer want an Automatic rule to run, go to Settings > Automation, click Edit to open the rule and set it to Inactive, or change the rule type to Manual.
