You can use the Move to Shipping Run action in two ways:
Add it as an additional action to a rule that already performs another action.
Use it as the only action in a rule when you simply want matching orders moved into a particular Shipping Run.
We'll show you how to use both options below.
⚠️ Important: Once an Automation Rule has run against an order, the changes cannot be undone through Automation.
We recommend creating new Automatic rules as Inactive, then using Dry run to check which orders will match before making the rule Active.
Add Move to Shipping Run to a rule
For this example, we have a rule that identifies PO Box orders and assigns an Australia Post service.
The first action in the rule is:
1. Assign Carrier and Service
Click Add Action and select:
2. Move to Shipping Run
Select the Shipping Run you want matching orders moved to.
For example:
PO Box Orders
The rule now performs two actions when a PO Box order matches:
Assigns the selected Australia Post carrier and service.
Moves the order to the PO Box Orders Shipping Run.
Note: You can add more than one action to the same Automation Rule.
Save and test the rule
Click Save, then use Dry run to check which orders match.
Check that the rule is identifying the correct PO Box orders before making it Active.
If the correct orders are returned, set the rule to Active.
Matching PO Box orders will now have their Australia Post service assigned and be moved into the PO Box Orders Shipping Run automatically.
Use Move to Shipping Run as a separate rule
Move to Shipping Run can also be the only action in an Automation Rule.
For example, you may already use Carrier Mapping to successfully map the shipping methods received from your store to the correct carrier and service in ReadyToShip.
You may then want orders where the customer selected Express Shipping at checkout to move straight into an Express Orders Shipping Run so your warehouse can prioritise them for packing.
Set the Trigger
Click Add Condition Group.
Select Requested Shipping Service as the Trigger and set the condition to match your Express shipping method.
For example:
Requested Shipping Service Contains Express
Add the action
Click Add Action and select:
Move to Shipping Run
Select your relevant Express Orders shipping run.
When an order is imported with Express in its Requested Shipping Service, ReadyToShip will automatically move it into the Express Orders Shipping Run.
Because Carrier Mapping is already assigning the correct carrier and service, no additional carrier assignment action is required.
This allows Express orders to be automatically separated from your standard orders and made available for priority packing by your warehouse.
Check the priority of your rule
If you have multiple Automatic rules, consider where this rule sits in your Automation list.
For our PO Box example, you may want:
Any required package rules to run first.
The PO Box rule to assign the Australia Post service and move the order to the PO Box Shipping Run.
Any more general shipping rules to sit below it.
If no further rules should be applied after the PO Box rule matches, turn on:
Stop after this rule — no further rules run when this rule matches
This prevents a rule further down the list from changing the carrier, service or other settings you've already applied.
