Configuring your DirectFreight Express connection

How to set or change the default options in your carrier settings

Written by Meegan

Once you’ve connected DirectFreight Express to your ReadyToShip account, you can configure a range of default settings for your shipments.

We recommend setting these defaults based on your most common shipment types. You can still adjust settings for individual orders at any time via the Carrier tab.

Accessing your carrier settings

  1. Go to Settings > Carriers

  2. Find DirectFreight Express

  3. Click the blue cog icon

  4. Select Settings

Available settings

Description
Defaults to the carrier name. You can update this if needed.

Sort Orders by
Choose how customer orders are displayed from the dropdown options.
See the dedicated help article for more details.

Round weights to
No input is required. DirectFreight Express only accepts whole numbers, so weights are automatically rounded up.
Example: 5.2 kg → 6 kg

Merge Customer Orders
Defaults to No. Set to Yes if you want orders from the same customer to merge into a single shipment.
Note: Orders will only merge if the name and address are identical.
See the dedicated help article for more details.

Delivery Instructions on Label
Select an option from the dropdown or enter custom instructions.
Note: Any text entered here will appear on all shipping labels.

Default Package Format (required)
This must be set. It should reflect your most commonly used package type.
You can update this at any time.

Notify Sales Feed Name
Enter a custom name if you want something different from the carrier name.

Return Address Override
If required, you can enter a different return address here instead of using the one registered with your DirectFreight Express account.

⚠️ Important

If you make any changes to your carrier settings, you must click the Save button at the bottom of the page for them to take effect.
