Shopify – Import Warehouse Locations Using Metafields

Import warehouse location information from Shopify into ReadyToShip.

Written by Meegan

ReadyToShip can import warehouse locations from Shopify Product Metafields.

Using metafields is the recommended method because they can be assigned to both Products and Variants, allowing you to store different warehouse locations for individual product variants.

Before you begin

You'll need:

  • A Shopify Product Metafield containing your warehouse or bin location

  • The Metafield Key used for that location field

Add your Metafield Key in ReadyToShip

  1. In ReadyToShip, go to Settings > Stores.

  2. Click on your Shopify store to open its settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Warehouse Location Metafield Key field.

  4. Enter the Shopify Metafield Key that contains your warehouse location.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

ReadyToShip will now import warehouse location values from Shopify for any new orders received after the Metafield Key has been added.

Warehouse Location Format

Warehouse location values can contain:

  • Letters

  • Numbers

  • Dashes

Examples

AB-1-2-3
AA233
SHELF-A12

Notes

  • Warehouse locations are only imported for new orders received after the Metafield Key has been configured in ReadyToShip.

  • Metafields can be assigned to individual variants.
