PLEASE NOTE: If your carrier does not require parcel dimensions to be submitted when creating consignments any dimensions displayed on your account will be ignored.

You can edit your order dimensions and weights in any order grid (ie your Unshipped Orders tab or in a shipping run assigned to a carrier) and by expanding the order.

The Order Grid

All order grids throughout ReadyToShip will display the weights, dimensions and package type selected for each order:

Order Detail

While slightly different to the order grid, weights, dimensions and package types are also displayed when you expand an order:

The following instructions are based on editing weights dimensions and package types in the order grid. Editing these details from within an order is very similar and doesn't call for separate instructions.

Editing Weights

Clicking the dimensions, weight or pencil icon will open the package details for editing. Highlight the weight value, or double click your mouse on the weight to select it, and edit the value. Click the button with the tick icon to save or the button with the cancel icon to cancel the change.

Editing Dimensions

Clicking the dimensions, weight or pencil icon will open the package details for editing. Highlight any dimension to edit the value. Use the Tab key or mouse to go to the next value. Click the button with the tick icon to save or the button with the cancel icon to cancel the change.

Change the Package Type

There are four main package types that can be used for your orders:

  • Default Package Size
Used when an order does not have weight or dimensional data. See our help article on "Packages Settings" for more information.

  • Predefined Package Size
A standard package size defined by you with specific dimensions and other options. See our help article on "Package Settings" for more information.

  • Estimated Package Size
The size of the package will be based on the dimensions of each article included in the order. For more information on how we calculate the estimated package size see our help article on "Calculating Optimal Packing Size"

  • Custom Package Size
You can define a custom package size by editing the dimensions of a package as shown above

Editing the dimensions of a package will change it to a Custom Package Size.

To change to a different package type delete the existing package by clicking the "x" along side the existing package

and then click Select.

You can then choose from any of the options in the list. The example above shows three predefined packages named "Small", "Medium" and "Large" and options for "Use Item Dimensions", "Best Fit" and "Custom".

Selecting "Use Item Dimensions" will calculate the size of the package based on the dimensions of items in the order.

Selecting "Best Fit" will select a Predefined Package Size that will contain all items in the order. If there isn't a Predefined Package Size large enough to fit all of the items in the order the "Use Item Dimensions" package will be used to estimate the package size.

Selecting "Custom" will allow you to manually specify the package dimensions.
