Change the Carrier Name Sent to Your Store in Tracking Data

Written by Nathan Huppatz

You can customise the carrier name that is sent to your store along with tracking data. This helps ensure your store generates the correct tracking links.

Why this matters

Some eCommerce platforms rely on exact carrier names to generate tracking URLs. If the carrier name doesn’t match what your store expects, you may see issues such as:

  • Incorrect tracking links (e.g. defaulting to Australia Post)

  • Mixed or invalid tracking IDs

  • Tracking not displaying correctly for customers

To avoid this, the carrier name sent from ReadyToShip must exactly match the carrier name configured in your store.

How to update the carrier name

  1. Go to Settings > Carriers

  2. Select the carrier you want to update

  3. Scroll to the Notify Sales Feed Name field

  4. Enter the exact carrier name used in your store platform

  5. Click Save

⚠️ Important

The value in Notify Sales Feed Name must match your store’s carrier name exactly (including spacing and formatting). Even small differences can cause tracking issues.

Test your changes

After saving:

  1. Ship a test order

  2. Check the tracking link in your store

If the tracking link is incorrect:

  • Confirm the carrier name matches your store exactly

  • Review your carrier configuration in ReadyToShip

This ensures tracking data is passed correctly and your customers receive accurate tracking links.
