About our labels

ReadyToShip provides labels in PDF format, that are generated directly by partner Carriers.

This means each PDF label is 100% the correct size.

Why could you be having problems?

If you have an issue with printing labels, such as:

  • Margins seem wrong

  • Label is printed too small/large

  • Label text isn't sharp

  • Part of the label is missing

This is a result of your computer's print settings. Either:

  1. The Default Printer Preferences (paper size, orientation, margins etc) are incorrect, or

  2. When printing the label using your browser Print Dialog box, you are applying some incorrect settings.

Make sure the printer is set to the right paper size and orientation

Most computers are dumb and don't know about the paper in your printer. You have to tell it:

  • How the paper is oriented (landscape or portrait)

  • What size the paper is  - often it defaults to A4  (210mm X 297mm) when labels are typically A6 (105mm X 148mm) or smaller.

Do a test print

We can print to any printer your computer is connected to. The best way to test is to generate a PDF of a label and try to print it on the label printer. If it works, it should also work for printing from ReadyToShip.
