How to do Carrier Mapping (for Carrier Not Assigned orders)

Carrier mapping and how it works

Your online store will offer customers different shipping options. They will usually have a name like Express Shipping or Standard Shipping.

If an order appears in the Carrier Not Assigned tab, ReadyToShip cannot determine which carrier service to use.

This happens when the store shipping method has not been mapped to a carrier service.

Quick Fix

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Carrier Mapping

  2. View Unmapped tab

  3. Find the relevant store shipping method

  4. Select the carrier

  5. Select the carrier service

  6. Click Apply Mapping

New orders using that shipping method will now automatically receive a carrier.

Assign a Carrier to Existing Orders

If orders have imported for the first time, or if you have a shipping method not seen by ReadyToShip before, you must assign the carrier manually.

From the Carrier Not Assigned Tab

  1. Open Carrier Not Assigned

  2. Select the order(s)

  3. Click Change Carrier

  4. Choose the carrier service

From the Order Page

  1. Open the order

  2. Click the shipping box icon

  3. Select the carrier and service

The order will then move to the Unshipped tab.

What is Carrier Mapping?

Carrier Mapping links the shipping methods used in your store checkout to the carrier services used to ship orders.

Example:

Store Shipping Method

Carrier and Service

Standard Shipping

MyPost Parcel Post + Signature

Express Shipping

MyPost Express Post + Signature

Once configured, ReadyToShip automatically assigns carriers to incoming orders.

Hereโ€™s a quick video explanation:

Prevent Future Issues

  • Create mappings when new shipping methods are imported

  • Update mappings when you change your preferred carrier/service for an existing shipping method

Go to Settings โ†’ Carrier Mapping to manage your mappings.

Once carrier mappings are set up, orders will automatically receive a carrier when they are imported.
